Arizona is Awesome

Lots to write about …

The wedding was great. The ceremony went off basically without a hitch, everyone enjoyed it, and we got a lot of great photos. The cake reception was held immediately afterwards in a building next to the church. The cake reception was open to everyone who was invited to the wedding, which included church members and some friends and family that weren’t going to the dinner reception.

We went to the dinner reception at Stoneridge Country Club, which is in a valley between two large hills and boasts an impressive golf course (no small feat for the desert). The dinner was delicious, they had an open bar of soda (it’s a Southern Baptist thing) and there was cake and dancing. They had a nice porch area outside that we sat on after the food was served to catch up with friends that weren’t able to come out with us the night before.

We had every intention of getting up early and driving to the Grand Canyon to watch the sun rise, but since we went to bed at midnight and the alarm went off at 2:30 AM PST, we were a little too exhausted to pack up and depart at that hour. We ended up sleeping until about 8AM, packing up, getting some continental breakfast, and hitting the road around 10. We got some gas and provisions and headed out for Carol and Ben’s place in Bullhead City, AZ.

When we left, our statistics were as follows:

  • 41:00 hours of driving
  • 2434 miles
  • 79.11 gallons of gas
  • 30.77 MPG average
  • 59.37 MPH average

Now I’m going to take a shower (you’ll find out why soon) and Kelsey is going to take over …
