We are married!

Thanks to everyone who came to the wedding, wished us well, sent us gifts, and so on. Our wedding day and the days before and after have been absolutely amazing thanks to all of you. We are in the process of getting photos posted and writing thank yous at present. I had to do a major overhaul of certain sections of my web presence, which caused our ability to log in and post blog entries to break for a while. Everything is back up and working now, though, so expect some photos to be posted soon. I’m about 95% complete with a script which will automate creating thumbnails and small size images, so once I start posting photos, they will appear very quickly. I am also going to organize the photos into albums, which will make browsing significantly easier. Also, the full size photos (10 megapixel) will be available on the website so you can download any photo you want from the wedding and get it printed at your local photo store. We have full rights to the digital images so you can feel free to reproduce without restriction.

I’m off now to pick up Kelsey from swim lessons … more updates to follow.

In Butler!

We made it to Butler! We got in at about 11:30 PM tonight. We’re checked into the hotel, and we brought our AirPort Express so we can have fast wireless internet on multiple computers (jacked into the hotel’s high speed ethernet). Now it’s time to watch some Sex and the City and go to bed! See you all shortly!

Eat this, raccoons!

Two days left to go! Hopefully everybody’s travel plans are coming along well.

So our guestbook page has been hit by spammers frequently over the past few days with attempted links to Cialis and Viagra sites. I just put in a filter to not permit HTML tags from being entered whatsoever (before they were turned into harmless less than and greater than symbols so as not to be processed as HTML). I will put in a more sophisticated CAPTCHA system later on to ensure that spam is not entered at all. Hopefully the measures I just put in place will prevent spam for the time being.

Organizational Problems

My sincere apologies to all the wonderful family and friends who so kindly helped me celebrate at the bridal shower my lovely sisters and female attendants threw for me! About a month ago Kevin and I went to Troy, NY for him to have some interviews for the STS department’s graduate studies program. He Got Accepted!! Which is awesome, although not amazing because I knew he could do it! I thought I’d use the down time in cold New York to write my thank you notes to all the wonderful bridal shower attendees, which I did. I however did not have postage with me and they got stuck in the bag of papers and accessories that never got unpacked after the trip. If you know me well, you will probably not be surprised by my lack of unpacking the bag. The moral of the story is that the thank yous are now in the mail and I am terribly sorry for the long delay. The gifts were all very wonderful!! I could not have asked for a more amazing shower full of love, friends and family. I love you all. Looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend and sharing another special day with you.

Database Server

Our database server fell over again. This is the third time a database server that I am using has had a problem at my current hosting company. I’m going to migrate the database for this site to a different server since two of the failures in the last two weeks have been with the server that houses the database for this site. However, if they don’t clean up their act soon, I’m going to migrate my sites to a different hosting company. *frustrated*

Anyway, we have over 90% of the responses back. We will be making phone calls today and tomorrow to get the final answers so we can get back to The Atrium with a count by week’s end.
