In order to take the photo of the Mori painting head-on without getting the reflection of the flash, Kevin had to take the photo without a flash, using a long exposure time. In order to get the camera to stay steady during the one second exposure time to prevent blurring, he attached it to a chair on the bed and used the self-timer to ensure that the camera didn’t vibrate during the exposure.
